An associate of the Michigan Arts and Humanities Touring Program, Brian maintains an active performing schedule performing both as a soloist and with the Grand Rapids Guitar Quartet. The Grand Rapids, Michigan based guitarist Brian Morris is in his twentieth year as a member of the GRCC Music Faculty. An associate of the Michigan Arts and Humanities Touring Program, Brian maintains an active performing schedule performing both as a soloist and with the Grand Rapids Guitar Quartet. He has performed with the West Shore Symphony, the Grand Rapids Symphony; at the College Music Society’s Regional Conference in Madison, WI, the Kennedy Center and has twice been featured as a presenter of Latin American Music at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies on the campus of Notre Dame University.
Many of Brian’s former student’s teach at colleges and universities and have successful careers as performers and in music business. He was the Director of the 2010 Mid America Guitar Ensemble Festival and a faculty member and ensemble director for the Interlochen Summer Guitar Workshops. In addition, he has given recent master classes and workshops at Mott Community College, Kellogg Community College and the White Lake Guitar Fest. Brian is the Director of the GRCC International Guitar Series and has been a concert organizer for over twenty-five years.
Earning music degrees from both Florida State University and Montana State University, Brian’s past teachers include Christopher Parkening and Bruce Holzman. He has participated in master classes with Manuel Barrueco, David Russell and Michael Lorimer. He is the author of The Real Guitar Method and has recorded four CDs, a solo classical guitar CD, Suite Music for the Classical Guitar, The Grand Rapids Guitar Quartet, a CD of original songs for Shakti Recordings Are We All the Same Age?, and Ballet Burlesque, music for two guitars for Liscio Recordings.

Jonathan Marshall is a Michigan born Classical Guitarist/Composer, and he is currently the director of guitar studies at Grand Rapids Community College. Jonathan owns and operates Jonathan Marshall Guitars (Concert Classical Guitar Dealer), and is the director of the Grand Rapids Community College International Guitar Series. He current
Jonathan Marshall is a Michigan born Classical Guitarist/Composer, and he is currently the director of guitar studies at Grand Rapids Community College. Jonathan owns and operates Jonathan Marshall Guitars (Concert Classical Guitar Dealer), and is the director of the Grand Rapids Community College International Guitar Series. He currently performs solo and with Guitarist Brian Morris in the Grand Rapids Guitar Duo. Jonathan has composed numerous solo classical guitar works published through (Guitar Chamber Music Press).
He studied under the classical guitarist and vocalist Brian Morris at Grand Rapids Community College, Carlos De La Barrera at Grand Valley State University, and completed his Master’s degree at the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati under Professor Clare Callahan. Jonathan has participated in Master Classes with Manuel Barrueco, Denis Azabagic, Ana Vidovic, and Oscar Ghiglia. He took second place in the Columbus, Ohio College Guitar Competition, and recorded a CD titled, “Modern Classical Guitar,” in 2006.
